WebJul 2, 2013 · The heater cores tend to carry over from model to model, especially in trucks. I needed a core for my 411. Was quoted $40 to fab one by a radiator shop and bought a new one for $17 at the Datsun dealer. I will say the heater core is solid, it doesn't leak unless the inlet is tweaked. And anyone who has replaced a heater core knows that even a factory unit is hard to get absolutely zero stress on the inlets and outlets.
